I have approximately 2000 3 gallon that are 3 years old. I am open to offers, product is available April 10th 2008.
hi im a senior that loves raspberries and never had the opportunity to plant raspberry canes - assume 3 gallon means pots with a cane - if planted would these produce this year?
Replying to Comment: 'hi im a senior that loves raspberries and never had the opportunity to plant raspberry canes - assume 3 gallon means pots with a cane - if planted would these produce this year?' hi ron,im responding to what you asked well if you planted these raspberry plants or canes they will probably produce a little but will be set back from the transplanting. They also will produce much later than usual because it is late in the season to be planting them now. I recommend that if you get some canes you should water them right away after planting to give them a little boost. The year after you plant the canes should produce much more than the year before.
What variety are these plants -Fall or Spring producing fruit? Do you mow the canes down on the Fall Variety? Does this type of severe pruning affect the production of fruit or does it enhance the size and sweetness? I'm undecided as to which variety to plant. Thanks for you input. L.S. New Brunswick
